I have a large full size rotary paper cutter perfect for 12 inch scrapbook papers but was looking to down size as most of my projects are small. This cutter just didn’t do it for me. I’m a small time party crafter making things from cards to banners. This cutter is interesting in that it has 2 blades, the rotary blade and another at the edge of where it cuts, I’m not sure how this makes it better but it definitely makes it more dangerous as there’s no finger guard from the side. Most paper cutters allow you to pull up on the blade or paper clamp to allow for paper placement. This cutter forces you to slide all your papers below the permanently set see through plastic paper clamp. This is a problem if you have multiple papers that you want to keep perfectly aligned or if you have intricate lace designs that you would rather just snap the cutter blade directly on top of or if you just wanted to cut a line from the middle of the paper and not from edge to edge. To replace the blade, there’s a notch that you release to slide the bar out to get access to the rotary blade. I think this is somewhat cumbersome as others you just have to pop the blade in and out. There are no problems with the quality of the cuts though. Nice, clean, and precise with no tears. I tried card stock to regular paper. Pretty hefty in weight despite the smaller design.
This cutter is awesome because it has 2 blades, the rotary blade and also a blade at the edge of where the rotary blade is at, I’m not sure how this makes it better but I'm sure it does as i haven't had any issues with it cutting the paper smoothly. Most paper cutters allow you to pull up on the blade and this one doesn't which is one of the only thing i really don't like about this. Also i hate how you cant lift up or move the piece that holds the paper because it makes it more difficult to keep the papers even so I think this is somewhat bothersome. There are no problems with the quality of the cuts though they are always nice, clean, and precise with no rips and i did try a few different paper weights.
I can't believe I lived without this trimmer! I was undecided between a standard "slicing" style trimmer and a couple other similar items to this Marigold brand but glad that I chose the Rotary kind! I feel it will last longer. It provides precise cuts and was perfect for my purposes. The side blade is sharp but I find if you handle it carefully, it really shouldn't cut you. While it has plastic at each of the sides, it is mostly made out of metal making it sturdier and probably could be recycled.
Ever hate those paper cutters with little blades? Nothing little here... This thing ROLLS!! The blade rolls, its smooth - little effort and the paper never snags! Seriously - I know what you are thinking, "there is not way it rolls" - ahhh but it does! No little blades, no pulling hard or having to push down really hard. This is so easy to use my grandmother could use it!! Sturdy, durable, smooth blade and it ROLLS!!! (the blade that is)
Amazing paper cutter.it's compact and easy to stored, the trimmer get the pricise margin(ca.1-2mm from the photo needs to protrude to get the cut right ).Worth 5 stars!
