TRUST & SAFETY

Useful signals begin with honest evidence.

Yoohoo is designed to recognize real commerce while minimizing the data we need to handle.

How activity is verified

Eligible completed orders are verified through connected providers. Receipts use OCR, duplicate detection, merchant matching, configurable validation rules, and human review where needed. Both sources create the same neutral verified-activity event.

What the Hot Meter measures

  • Recent verified customer activity
  • Greater weight for unique customers
  • Reduced weight for repeat activity
  • Continuous decay across the configured activity window
  • Deduplication across orders and receipts

Ratings and reviews are not part of the Activity Score. A merchant cannot buy a hotter score, and a long review history is not required for a new business to show genuine momentum.

Refunds, cancellations, and duplicates

Refunded or cancelled eligible value is reversed. Duplicate webhooks and duplicate receipt uploads do not create duplicate rewards or activity. When only part of an order is refunded, Yoohoo reduces eligible amounts proportionally.

Privacy by restraint

  • Customers choose whether account contact details may be used for private purchase matching.
  • Yoohoo can store keyed fingerprints used for matching instead of exposing raw contact details.
  • Merchants do not receive customer contact information from Yoohoo matching.
  • Full payment-card numbers are not requested or stored.
  • Commerce access is limited to what is needed for verification, refunds, and support.
